Twinkle twinkle little stars

"How I wonder what you are?!"
Now I know how it feels and how pain is tattoo-ing! I always wanted a tattoo, but didn't have the courage to do so. When thinking about it, my mind would tell me, "Dear Vivienne, it's FOREVER you know?" Last week, a friend suddenly asked me whether want to have a tattoo, my heart was storming up with this topic again! Should I get one?!

Hours later, I googled some pictures and see which symbol or pattern I would like, then friend recommended a star. After few days......I did it! It's very hard to believe that myself, could ever get a tattoo on my left wrist!
Always hearing people say it's not pain to get tattoo, it's just like ant biting. Yeah, it is. But it's actually few thousands ants bite at the same time, so do you think that's pain?! Hell yeah!
A little bit swollen after tattooed, it took 20 minutes to complete the size of 20 cents star. I love it a lot! Awesome thing I had done! I did it! I'm so much cooler now!

I had enough

It's January 2011, I have already jobless for 19 months! Even longer than I had stayed in the isolated island! What have I done in this 19 months?!

Starting with the brand new year, while seeing some friends or relatives, they would ask me:"Hey, where have you been flying? Which airline are you working with now?". I would reply the same thing every time, "No, I'm still studying, haven't flown yet."
It's not a lie, I'm really studying. The thing is, did I just want this as an excuse for being jobless or I really want to study?! Frankly, it's both.

Shame on myself and family on not be able to get a job until the license had expired! Friends around keep asking, why didn't you apply to the airlines?
HELLO PEOPLE, WHO DOESN'T WANT TO FLY OR WORK? OF COURSE I APPLIED EVERYWHERE, BUT THEY DON'T WANNA ACCEPT ME, THEN WHAT CAN I DO?!
Did you used your toes to think? Don't ask stupid questions please! It's not proud to get a job when you nearly collided with somebody else during training! I don't understand either why the company hired you at the first place?!

I have all 1st attempt scores in both theory and practical, I could fly so much better than most of my batch mates, I even got good comments from captains and instructors! Then why am I still standing on the ground?! The worst and most terrible cadet in my batch got into airline just because of connection! Sorry to say that, but this is so terribly unfair!

I'm so sick on people asking me where do I work now, I had the whole 19 months on people asking me the exactly same questions, and it's still counting. I'm too tired to answer, I need a break! I had enough...

Taipei, Taiwan - Ximen Ding

“各位乘客,往台北开往的快车即将启程,请各位乘客到三号月台登车,谢谢”

Standing in front of the LCD screening the train schedules in ZuoYing high speed train station, leaving from Kaohsiung to Taipei. A 90 minutes train with the speed of 300km/hr, that's real fast! Since when our KTM would upgrade to 300km/hr?! God knows...!

Taipei!!! Backed after 14 months! Hardly remembered what I had eaten and done during the last trip! Checked in to a nice hotel, went out to take a walk around the city. The hotel located in a wholesale region, all shops are selling goods for wholesale, pretty good place to shop!

Walking down the street, we smelled the frying fragrance lying on our senses! Spotted! There're two stalls setting at the end of the street, selling spring onion cake and something like the roti canai. Well, the roti canai didn't attract us of course, but not the spring onion! Remember how fantastic the spring onion was in Kaohsiung night market?!

What's best in a Sunday evening?! Ximen Ding! One of the most "happening" place in Taipei! Arrived at the MRT station, saw a HUGE crowd in that area! Where were all these people come from?! I was standing at the MRT station watching the crowd, taking this picture and thought "okay, let's go back, we've seen XimenDing! Would I be able to breathe if I go down there?!"

Went through the crowd, suddenly thinking of having a nice cool and pleasant dessert for the afternoon. 杨记花生玉米冰, one of my favourite dessert in Taiwan, have to report myself there every time in Taipei! It was a 16 degree Celsius afternoon (almost evening), M didn't want to have cold stuff so I ate the whole bowl by myself! Love the taste of the white peanut as always, the sweetness of the corn is just nice! It would be fantastic if eating that during summer!

Owww...I want it now, it's freaking hot here! Where's the snow?

After the night market, me and Eric rode back to his apartment with satisfaction, got my puddings and machi from his personal fridge, I glanced at my watch, it was almost 9pm! I've got to go back to Kaohsiung anytime soon! Got my stuffs and we walked to the train station and bought the ticket back.
Said the last "thank you" to Eric for the wonderful one-day trip in Tainan, I walked into the train platform and waited for it to come. My train will depart at 2149 from Tainan, and it would take about 50 minutes to reach Kaohsiung.
Sitting in the train and listening to Zee Avi's "poppy", started thinking back what I had been through in this long day, lips slowly lifted naturally at both sides.....what a dreat day!
Reached Kaohsiung at 11pm, M just finished her concert and coming back too. After showered, I happily opened the pudding and tried it out! I tried both tastes, milk and mango cheese! The conclusion is, I prefer the milk pudding! The softness and the smoothness of the milky pudding together with awesome black sugar! There's no water added, they replaced it with milk! Imagine how soft is the pudding?! Awww...i'll miss the pudding! So far that was the best I've tasted!

Tainan, Taiwan - Hua Yuan Night Market

Food time!!!
Hua Yuan Night Market, one of the largest in Taiwan! Me, Eric and his roommate went there for dinner/supper together! Hah! Dozens and dozens of people when we arrived, walking shoulder to shoulder; tried very hard not to get lost, thankfully Eric is tall enough to spot on!

First stall we stopped was my favourite, 滷味marinated meat. Chicken feet, tofu, intestines, and chicken butt; all smelled fantastic with the special made and very thick soy sauce! I bought chicken feet and tofu, it tasted delicately delicious, it was very soft which I think they had cooked it for many hours! Love it!

How could we miss the grilled squid in Taiwanese night market?! And it actually has few prices which depends on how big you want to eat! It grilled with the sweet sauce, after you smell the scorched smell, it could already be served with putting a little bit of sesame! Owww...best thing with beers!

I was full after the fried chicken earlier, couldn't really eat. So the last thing we ate was the pancake with prawns stuffing! The taste is very close to the Malaysian pancake, but it was nice after it just came out from the hot pan! The prawns were big and juicy, pancake skin was very crispy too!

Holding my hot pancake, we walked out from the crowd to the nearby car park to enjoy the food. Not far away, we saw a huge crowd surrounding few people in the middle, then we had the same thoughts....CELEBRITY! I tipped my toes for the better height, guess who? It was the host, Sha Sha 莎莎, from the show SuperTaste shooting and introducing the top 10 food in the night market! Oh, she looks pretty in real person! Well, I hope I won't appear on the show though!
