29 hours in the white building

"Bed 6A wont be able to eat for 4 hours", "what's the BP this morning?", "check the patient medical history", "Patient 8E will be prep for surgery in one hour", conversations between nurses in level 3. The sound of people coughing, sniffing, brisk walking... This is the hospital. Full of tense environment and frightful surroundings.

I spent a 29 hours staying in the hospital, my ward has no entertainment no tv, nothing! My activities during 29 hours besides in the OR were, walked from my bed to the wash room then back to my bed, listened to my iPod and talked on the phone. Nurse came to me approximately every 4 hours to check my blood pressure and temperature. The rest of the time, I was just lying down on my bed and looked at the ceiling. I was so bored!

Picture below is my dinner after the surgery... The food was not bad and big portion, I could only finish half of it!
First time stayed overnight in the hospital was a little creepy, people come and go, die and born. Saw families crying, hugging for joy or something else... For me, it is never a good place to stay! It's too emotional to be at! Though it was a good experience to be there once in a life time, of course I wont wish to go back again! So, all I can do is maintain my health and get better for my own good!

Now, I'm back at home enjoying tv and playing guitar! Ahhhhhh.....it's always good to be back home!! =)

Before November ends

Before the month ends, firstly, feeling a little bit bad of not going for exam. Well, screw it! I heard the tests were super hard, and it was just a 'test'! Right?
Secondly, happy birthday again to dear SY. Hope she likes the song I sang for her! =P
Lastly, wish my mum and F have a safe trip up to Seoul; buy more, eat more, and enjoy the snow!
Goodbye November! Let's welcome the holidays!!!!!

Scalpel please...

So it was the big day! Woke up before the sun rose, mum and J accompanied me to the hospital. Holding my belongings with tense emotion, and walked towards the reception of the hospital. Reported myself and paid for the deposit, then a guy led us to my ward. Got into the 6-bedded ward and changed my clothes to surgical dress, not sure how to call it. Anyway, nurse came in a while and help me to do pre-op; checked my BP, weight, body temperature, etc...

(A rolling surgical bed arrived in front of me), a staff said to me:"It's time! You've got to go!".
"Oh God! I'm going in there!", my mind said. I sat on the bed and lied down, after everything was ready, they pushed me towards the OR. Lying down on the bed, watching the light tubes passing above me, went a level down and I saw instruments which look like CT scan, then I know.....I was already in the surgical floor!

I was sent to a room, I tilted my head and saw 'OR5'. The next thing came to my eyes were 2 big surgical lights and few scrub nurses wearing mask. The anesthesiologist came and asked me a few questions about allergies then she explained how she would put me into sleep. First, she poke my hand with a blood transfusion needle, one scrub nurse gave me oxygen at the same time. Then I saw the anesthesiologist carried a pumped white colour 'drug' and started injecting it into my body through the transfusion needle. My surgeon came into the OR, the first thing he said was, "Okay! Find me some lump today!". Well, he did say that! I heard the nurses giggling, before I could hear them stop the giggles I was already knocked out!

Just a clicked! I was unconscious! Drugs............(shake my head)
By the time I heard voices was someone tapped on my shoulder and said:"Wake up, the surgery is done already.". Slowly I opened my eyes and see the surroundings, I felt extremely dizzy, hardly opened my eyes. I only heard conversations between nurses. It was like I felt asleep for only 5 mins, but it was actually one hour! The feeling was very interesting...hardly described too!

The operation was a success, no complication and everything is cleared from the breast. I was sent back to the ward and rest until the anesthetic drug went off. Surgeon came and checked my wound, he explained that lump was a fibroadenoma lump, if I'm not mistaken. I think I was conscious....I think!
There it was! I am totally lump-free!! Yeehah!

I signed the Consent form in the hospital

"You are 21st year-old right?", asked the nurse. "Yes", I said.
"Then you are allowed to sign the consent form, and please fill in your particulars."
5 months ago, I went to the hospital and had a breast check. Did the ultrasound and found there's a lump in my left breast. The doctor said the lump is harmless, so he put me under observation and come back again after 6 months.

Last week, I felt an uncomfortable pain from the lump, moreover the pain woke me up during my sleep. Something was wrong I thought, so I went to the hospital the next day to identify the pain. Same procedures, did the ultrasound and got back to the doctor for consultation. The feeling of waiting outside the doctor's clinic that day and 5 months before are very different. In July, I had this ignorant thinking because I didn't know what would the ended results be; on the other hand, after 5 months, I had studied more about the lump and breast diseases, so I kind of predicted what's gonna happen!

10 mins later, I was called to enter the clinic. "The lump is growing bigger!", the doctor said while I was putting my right foot into the room. I didn't know how to react, so I said "Oh....".
"Come lie down and let me check again.", (checks in progress), "this one has to be taken out!", the doctor said. He added, "because it is growing and it would not go away by itself! You will have the surgery on the coming Monday!"
"It will be the 29th of November", said the nurse.
I was sitting on the hospital bed and had no idea what's happening! I was blanked for a few seconds! What?! Surgery?!

I know there's nothing serious happen, but still you will feel your nerves running when the doctor told you that he wants to cut you open! So, the nurse and the doctor started asking me questions, "Can you come early Monday morning?", "Do you have insurance?", "Do you want to stay in the hospital one night before?", "Do you want a day care or you want to be admitted?", "You are not allowed to eat before the surgery................!"
Wow! That's hell a lot of stuff to be aware of! First time in my life to have surgery, even I keep my appendix well!

Later a while, the nurse gave me a piece of paper, it's the consent form for the surgery. I know what it is, it has to be signed by the surgeon, anesthesiologist and me. After few days, then I went for the surgery......

The Map of the World!

I always wanted to stick the world map on my wall! To look at it everyday I wake up and hope to dream of going around the world in my sleep! So, that day I went to a book store and got a map which is quite cheap. Finally I have a map in my room! Next destination: West Europe! Yeah! Shall sleep early tonight! Sweet dreams! Lol...

Waseda Brass Band Japan

Yesterday was the 5th anniversary concert in Penang for The Waseda Brass Band Japan, and the title for the concert was "The Glorious Brass Music"! J found out the advertisement few days before the concert, first she told me the concert would held in KOMTAR auditorium. I asked, "Are you sure?".

According to the authority, this was a charity concert and the ticket was only RM10 per person! Normally we hardly find orchestra performances in Penang, even though it would be more than RM10! This was considered an International performance since they are from Japan! Hence, me and J decided to go for the concert which would be our first time watching the brass band!

Waseda Brass Band is established in year 2000, it was from the Symphony Orchestra of the Waseda University Japan. All of the members are from very different division of studies like; major in physics, chemistry, mechanical engineering, architecture, law, political science, economics, etc. The average age of the members is over 50! They are the amateur musicians, they play music with their interest and passion.

The band is consisted with trumpets, trombones, tubas, horns, euphonium and percussion. On the afternoon yesterday, they played for two and a half hours. Songs included, Salut d'Amour, Sabre Dance, Flight of the Bumblebee, My Favourite Thing, most of John Williams' screen music (Star Wars, Harry Potter, Jaws, E.T. and Jurassic Park).

All these music are my favourite! I had goosebumps all the way from the beginning to the end! The compositions of the trumpets and trombones to the horn and the tuba, adding up with some percussion instruments; I could say.....it was AWESOME! The best part was the flute, the conductor-Nakajima Akihiro played flute solo with trumpets as the background music for the song-Salut d'Amour. Owww....then I fell in love with flute! It is a very nice wind instrument for solo! Sounds so soft and sweet! Love it!

Eventually, I love symphony orchestra or even just a quartet, I would love to be one of them!

UniQlo from Tokyo to Kuala Lumpur

In the mean time, all the way from Tokyo, UniQlo had arrived in KL, in the middle of the city, 3-level store in Fahrenheit 88 opposite The Pavilion. It was the grand opening for the well-known Japanese made brand also the biggest branch in South East Asia, and that explained why J wanted to follow me down to KL!
We went there the day after the rising of the curtain! It was a public holiday, I could say the whole KL were in the Fahrenheit 88 queueing for UniQlo!
We started the queue at 1110hour, by the time we entered the store was already 1230hour! I guess there were almost 1500 consumers queueing!
The winter season has slowly arrived, so does UniQlo! Jackets, fleece, leggings, UJs jeans, and their famous UTs t-shirt. I love their fleece!! Nice and classic patterns!
I'm more interested in their spring and summer collections, will be back next year! Love UniQlo!

Happy Deepavali 2010

Taking advantage of the Diwali holiday, I decided to go down to KL for the weekend. Missing my niece and nephews, so I bought an original DVD movie named Planet 51 for them as a special gift! By coincidence, J wanted to follow me as well, so we had the same crazy idea! We drove down from PG to KL!

I volunteered to drive from BW to TPH, then changed shift and J continued until to KL. It took us 4 hours to arrived without speeding! When on the way to Ipoh, there's a banner on the hill which is something like the Hollywood sign, written IPOH. Then I spoke surprisingly, "Wow! Malaysians starts copying the Hollywood now!". After J heard that, she laughed and replied, "It's there for years already, didn't you notice that?".
I think I've been taking flights down to KL recently, so I couldn't see that from the top; also, this was my first time driving on the North-South highway too. Hahahaha....
Of course, this trip's visit to the 'Pet' house wasn't being explained clearly, the pet family didn't know about my early arrival and the appearance of a bunch of food cooked by mum. P was happy to see both of us with all the wonderful surprises! So did the kids! We all indeed had a good time in KL! We did and went to the usuals: Lok Lok, IOI, movie, cheese cake, shopping, and eat porridge which P will cook no matter who visits!

It was a 4-day trip, we went to IKEA on the last day before departed back to PG. We had lunch there, meatballs is a must for me every time I go to IKEA. I remember the first time I tasted the Swedish meatballs which was in Germany in 2004. M brought me to IKEA, but I couldn't be sure where's the IKEA that I went?!! However, I remembered that we bought one pack of Swedish meatballs back home, it's a perfect match with homemade pasta! In fact, the typical Swedish style is served with gravy, potatoes and berry jam! Oww... delicious!!

A wonderful night with Air Supply

16th November 2010 evening, Penang Island, rained cats and dogs; but it didn't hold 5,000 fans to go to the Penang International Sport Arena (PISA) for Air Supply's Love Never Ends concert!

This was the first time for the two great stars to come to Penang, my sisters were so excited because we couldn't remember when was the last time artists came to PISA for concerts. So, we bought the tickets just after it released!

Finally! The day came! The show was awesome, we expected they sing for hour and a half since they are so old. However, they did the show for almost two hours and forty five minutes! 'All out of love', 'Goodbye', 'Making love out of nothing', etc. All those hits since the 70s, they sang most of it and it was so great!

We all had a wonderful and romantic night! It's good to see them still singing and dancing, glad that I went to the concert! Even though I shouted the wrong name! Well, that was so embarrassing because I heard the name Bryan Mashall, but it was actually Graham Russell?!! What?!! I found out from Google the next day! So, the moral of the story is, please do some homework before going to a show!

The organizer is organizing another great concert next year in PISA for the all-time-favourite musician, Kenny G! We will be looking forward!
Alright! I know you guys now! Russell Hitchcock and Graham Russell! 4-star for Air Supply!

Love Never Ends...

Restless!

It is very hard to live in a multi cultures environment, if you were born in a conservative family, trust me, it's hard! Years ago, I should have joined the student exchange programme during secondary school, stay in a foreign country and live in their culture. How wonderful would that be!

Academic study is for the future, score fantastically to land on a good career. However, to communicate with people with different skin colours is depend on how well do you know about them. I had tried to imagine myself living with all types of guys from around the world, I thought carefully, and I think I would be the person who got left out eventually from the group.

It's a vital matter to me because the world is dissolved with all sort of people working and living together nowadays. For me, a person's exposure affects his/her knowledge and maturity; you'll know more when you see more! Making friends from different countries would be a good start, but it's difficult to make friends from the Internet in this century.

Though I'm speaking International language, still, have no idea how other culture works. Gosh! I really need to learn more about these stuffs! This makes me restless! I don't want to be rejected by the society because of that!

Je t'aime...

"My friend just said the word Je t'aime to me!", my classmate C said excitedly. C just had a break up with her 5-year relationship a month ago, already has so many 'bees and flies' wondering around her!

"Gosh! I think he is in love with me! And I think I have feelings for him too!", said K who is my classmate too. K has never be in a committed relationship, but she had this 'admirer' since secondary school, it was ended due to some "reasons"!

"I'm officially in a relationship!", my friend A from the college told me that. "And he has green eyes!". Mmm... I think that guy must be wearing contact lens to seduce girls! Well, A is in a relationship with a foreigner who has a very good figure and eyes!

"Is in a relationship with xxx.", I saw that from S's FB relationship status. Barely hear she gives compliment towards a guy, though S has a boy friend now too! He is one of the representatives of Malaysia Mountain Bike team, sounds a little bit cool!

Why is everyone falling in love nowadays? Is it the season of love now?
Ahh....though I have been single for 3 years, but I'm still loving the single life! How nice to do whatever I want, eat whatever I want, decide whichever way I wish to be! Uh-uh, relationship is too messy and complicated! I don't have the time for that so far! I have a great time with families and friends, and that's enough!

Anyway, wish all my friends a good luck and may it lasts long! Muaaaks! =D

One Good Man

I have a classmate, let's say his name is Kevin. In the class, he is smart and sharp and every lecturer loves him. Also, he is 18 year-old like any body else except me. What's so interesting about him? Let's start the story...

Both of us stay in the mainland and we take ferry boat to the island to college, sometimes we would bump into each other early in the morning or go back home together after classes. One morning, like usual, I was listening to my iPod; after the ferry arrived the island, I got out and walked along the pathway towards the bus station. Half way through, I saw Kevin from the back with his hand holding another guy's hand. Looked like he was leading the way for the guy towards the bus station, and yes, that fella is blind.

Despite he was getting late to the college, still, he was so guardful and attentive while leading the way, he whispered to the blindman when there's a stumbling block. I was impressed! That's the first time I saw one of my friends being so helpful! I walked passing him and greet, had a quick glance before catching the bus, he was watching every foot step, making sure that the blindman had the safe steps. Sitting inside the bus, from the inside I noticed Kevin was asking him "Where do you want to go?". After the blindman replied, Kevin led him hop on to the bus and talked to the bus driver, made sure that he got to his destination.

That was so thoughtful! How many teenagers or youngsters nowadays would do such a thing to the disables? So few of us would do that! Even I don't have the courage to do so?! There is another story though. Again it's a morning, while we were queueing for the bus; one old-looked-sick man queued in front of Kevin. The old man couldn't get on the bus because of the height of the bus platform, he seemed helpless a little and the queue was getting longer. Kevin saw what's happening, just a few second after, without a thought, Kevin walked in front and assisted the old man. Eventually, he carried him up into the bus!

After getting up, the old man turned back to Kevin, tapped on Kevin's shoulder and said "thank you". Then Kevin gave him a quick nod and smile. From that moment, I felt so proud being Kevin's friend; and I wish I could be like him too! In fact, it's not hard to help people at all, why is it so difficult to do so? You would feel needed help sometimes when you have difficulties, right? Kevin is a good role model in this society, he doesn't do it for granted, he did it because he knows that others needed his help!

Amigo Amigoes Amigoest!

Uno, dos, tres, cuatro, cinco... I could count within the number of my own fingers, I ain't got a lot of friends. I logged into my FB this morning and saw a video clip made by a friend for her best friend's birthday, the video is touched and very thoughtful. So, I was thinking whether I would have this type of friend to make a video of me for my birthday? Lol...

Well, that's not the point! The point is, tomorrow will be Mr.D's birthday! We celebrated last night, went for steamboat under a cool rained weather with beers. After the awesome dinner, we went to D's house and messed around in his room. Nothing good happens after midnight, and it surely does! We discovered a CD which the guys took in somewhere 2005, it was "supposed" to be a music video. Which I don't think it is!

The video was the worst music video that I had ever seen! However, it was hilarious and a good recall for the guys during the naive teenage lives. It's very hard to explain more about the video, but I have a picture here to share though! Hahahahaha... =D

So.....it's November!

It is November now! If I have not mistaken, I remember I blinked my eyes twice, and it is the end of the year 2010! Time is faster than the speed of light which is 300000000m/s! After this month, I'll flying out to the North and North East of Asia! Lalalalala..... Cheers!

Hallo Halloween!

Treat or trick? 31st October, my hometown doesn't seem to have the Halloween atmosphere, uh-uh, not at all! Everyone is doing the regular stuff and doesn't care much about the Halloween; well yeah, that's not our culture though.

However, I remember the Halloween last 6 years, 31st October 2004. I was 16 and living in Papenburg, North West of Germany with my sis M. Before the day, me and M went to the Real Hypermarket to get some Haribo for the holiday. Haribo happened to become my favourite back in the days, since it is hard to get it here so I had stopped eating!

I had no idea about Halloween, so M told me there would be kids with crazy Halloween costumes come knocking on doors and ask "treat or trick?". Which people are supposed to answer whether they want to treat the kids some sweets, or let the kids trick you! Sounds fun right?! Yeah, it's better to treat because you won't want to see your car full of broken eggs the next morning!

So, we bought the Haribos and wait for the kids to come! On that night, M was working late and I was alone at home. I heard some footsteps from outside with a bunch of kids speaking in German, "they are here!" I said. Then I walked to the kitchen and get some Haribos ready. I heard them whispering against the gate, but after a few minutes the whispers were fading along the distance.

"Did they knock or press the doorbell?" I ask, "No they didn't!". Well, I could wait for another group to come then. ....................It never happen!
M came back home excitedly and asked, "Did you treat the kids?"; "No..." I said. "No one was knocking the door! And I guess we have to finish these Haribo our self!", she laughed curiously. Then we started eating the Haribo! That's Halloween 2004!
