Visit the Cats town

After landed on the Borneo territory, I quickly got up from my seat and left the aircraft. Gosh! The low-cost carrier has the smallest seat ever! It has been 10 years since I last came to the city of Cats aka Kuching, Sarawak; so I had never known I needed to go to the immigration checks... Well, it's still within Malaysia...?! No..?

16th September 2010, it's Malaysia Day celebrating the merger of East and West Malaysia; but Kuching was covered with cumulonimbus for the whole day. That was a visiting trip to the East, visiting my friend S and family. Sitting inside the car and watching the buildings passing beside me, I think, Kuching is still the same as before.

It was a late night when I arrived and I still had cute little guests welcoming me to the house, Alfie and Alzif; and yeah, finally I met Alfie! It was really a short trip, 3 days and 3 nights; and I didn't plan where to go at all which I just wanted to see the city, the culture, the Raya, and people.

Of course the family would love to bring me explore the city and more, so her dad suggested we should go to the Bako National Park located in North Kuching. Visiting a national park seems like a must when you go to a place like Sarawak, which has thousand years tropical jungle and rare species animals. Plus, S and the family had never been to the this place before! What?! They have been staying there for centuries! Even before the dinosaurs exist!

Waking up in a delightful morning, the whole family was preparing for the adventurous national park. I put my bottle in my back-pack and got ready for the exciting trip! After breakfast, we started the engines on both cars, got out of the city, entering narrow path towards the Bako jetty for the boat.

Sitting on the speed boat, feeling the wind skate over my face, I took out my camera and started taking those excited faces. We saw thousand years of sand stones standing surrounded by sea water, some stone looks like frog/human faces/turtle; which you just have to apply your imagination into it. Moreover, some native believe there are stories behind these different looking sand stones.

After side-seeing the stones on the boat, we arrived the national park; then we found out it is actually a huge jungle and we were supposed to trek in the jungle for 1.6km with Levi's and flip-flop! In fact, we did the jungle trek and reached a beautiful beach on the other side of a hill. It was really tiring yet be worth seeing Proboscis monkeys too!

Besides the national park, I was just staying in the city for the rest of my days there. Had very nice Laksa Sarawak/Mee Jawa Satay/Seafood, the local food and taste are very different from West Malaysia style; and it tastes really nice for me. Kuching is a city where it has all the malls, food, necessities as any city; it is not an Ulu place like you think, so please don't still imagine that the people are living on the trees!

A special mention should be made about S and the family, for 3 days and 3 nights, even though it was not long, the whole family treated me well. Gave me a comfortable 3-night stay, good hospitality, went to Bako together and bought me local moon cake for my family too. They made the trip memorable!

I am so thankful that her family actually wanted me to stay longer, and her dad asked me when I was packing my luggage :"you really want to go back?". And I told him I should leave some of my belonging in the house, so that I will come back again. Eventually, I did leave my belt there which I really forgot about that!

I'm grateful that S and the family were being part of my life, we encountered; then, we continue our own journey of life!
Once again, I would like to thank all of them for everything! =)

Another BIG day!!!

My dad has been so dedicated to the family, work and society! He has been so busy, even though I didn't get a chance to wish him 'happy birthday' personally!

Today is his birthday, so I would like to wish him to be healthier and happier for the coming years! Happy Birthday Dad, love ya!

Besides wishing my dad, I discovered a box of old pictures this afternoon. All of those black and white pictures which had been hiding above of the wardrobe all the time! The pictures belong to my sis, J, she collected those and arranged nicely in few albums.

We flipped through page by page and we could not stop laughing, those pictures look hilarious! The way people wore and posed 20-30 years ago make us laugh the most, also those 70s hair style and bell-bottomed pants! What a good memory!

Well, I wasn't there yet during the 70s, but it's still funny to look at families when they were young! In fact, I found my own picture taken when I was 3 year-old I guess, and I would like to share it here. I had an impatient look and was wearing a shirt written 'WANTED'! Hahahahahahaha.....! =D

The Gratitude

There are so many things that I feel grateful for, so many!
I'm grateful that I have a wonderful family;
have more than enough necessity to live with;
have most of what I had wanted;
have a good health;
have shelter provided;
have traveled to places;
have the food that I love to eat;
have friends around to hang out;
have people to help me carry when it's too heavy;
have buddies to share my happiness and sadness with;
have all the support when I need it;
have assisted even though I didn't ask for;
have Nat King Cole to cheer up my day;
etc
etc
Gratitude is the greatest gift, and I'm thankful. =)

Michael Jackson's This Is It!

Human only appreciate when they lost something, and this is so true. I bought a MJ album in 2006, and I didn't really know how to enjoy his masterpiece that time. Nowadays, I started to love his songs, however, I have no chance to see his live performance anymore. What a pity.....=(

After 'This Is It' had been released, I'm watching the dvd everyday in my room, even though not watching, will listen to his songs and still loving it.
Anyway, MJ is the legend.
Love lives forever.....

Mama, who is sitting inside the cockpit?

"Jet engines sound..." from 30,000ft, I can clearly know that is a B747 passing overhead my house.

Remembering many years ago, little girl asked:"Mama, who is sitting inside the cockpit? are they trained in the army?"

"No, they are pilots. They are trained in the flying school like anybody else sweetheart, and there are girl pilots as well." she replied.

This curious little girl starts her fantasies, "what's the feeling of flying an aircraft? is it scary?", "Wow! the pilots get to go around the world, how cool is that!"

Love travelling after since she went overseas for the first time, little girl began searching the information about pilots and flying schools. She fell in love with aircrafts eventually, and set 'become an airline pilot' as her goal. After going through few difficult thoughts and decisions, she finally went into a flying school located in an lovely island.

She remembers the first time she sat in the small training aircraft, back-sitting her batch mate and a French instructor flying around the island. The feeling was ....hardly described. A mix feeling of nervous, anxious, joys and dream come true! The good thing about small aircraft is the pilot can actually see more fascinating scenery from top, and more flexible on the controls.

Time flies fast, like it really speeds up when you think about the past. 18 months of training in an island, the little girl has grown up and got her wings! This is an incredible experience which she can actually fly an aircraft, though it's just the very first step to become a commercial pilot.

And today, she is working hard to have the dream come true which she set when she was a little girl. =D
Good Luck!

Is life being ridiculous?

I was watching this movie last night, telling a story happened in the 60s, there's a family living in a self built shop-house at the end of a street in downtown Hong Kong. This shabby house has very poor foundation, which can be easily blown away by the typhoon. Selling handmade shoes for living, they have to pay for the pricey rented land every month plus paying the expensive education for two sons.

A small business doesn't make big money, instead of eating more rice everyday they are suffering big financial issue. It gets worst after the doctor diagnosed their elder son has blood cancer, parents fight hard to get cures and sell off their valuables to get him medicines. With the unsatisfied technologies at that time, and those immature human behaviors have killed their son in the end. Well, I think this world has more sadder stories.

I have a thought, what if one day I have a terminal disease? Would it be cured? What if there's no tomorrow for me? Then what should I do today? Should I be scared then? I have no idea! What is life actually? What should we do in our life? Work to death? NO! Sometimes, it's just ridiculous when we think of it; relatives or friends passed away in a sudden. Did they enjoy their life before that?

I always forget how blissful am I living in such a nice environment. No poverty, no earthquake, no natural disaster, no domestic violence, no infectious disease, etc. I am totally blessed to be here! I have a superb family, we have fun all the time and love gathering! I will remind myself everyday when I wake up in the morning saying "Thank God I'm here!". I'm enjoying my life, be healthy, less anger and more laughter.
God bless you...
